Lyon County is a large urban county in Nevada. It is situated close to a metro region that helps drives economic activity and employment for residents of the county. Of the 17 counties in Nevada, Lyon County ranks fourth in terms of its population (52,585, according to 2015 Census estimates). The county is also considered popular among retirees. At 2,016 square miles, Lyon County is Nevada's 14th biggest county (covering two percent of the state).
