Magnolia Manor! It is one of the most interesting older homes in Butler County. Built around 1866 by Holden Evans, a lumberman who had large sawmills in W Florida. The home was constructed with only the finest lumber. Very little has been done to change the original footprint of the home. The name Magnolia Manor came from the ten Magnolia trees that were planted by Captain Evans when the house was built. A standout feature is the beautiful spiral staircase in the front hall. The ceilings have heavy moldings and beautiful plaster frescos. The gorgeous heart pine floors are in wonderful condition. The most recent update was done in the 1970s and the house was occupied until recently. Of course, as with most homes built in that era, there is need for some renovation and updating but it could make the most amazing historic home!
