Sligo & Springfield Plantations

When Judge George W. Armstrong purchased the property in 1917 the abstract dated back to 1775 to the Spanish Governor Carlos De Grand Pre.

Judge Armstrong sold his famous Horseshoe Ranch in Sulphur Oklahoma and moved 4,500 head of cattle, mules and horses to Natchez Ms. and established the legendary Sligo Ranch.

The Judge came to Natchez to negotiate contracts with the Government to supply cattle and mules during World War 1. Judge Armstrong would buy several plantations totaling over 40,000 acres in the Natchez area.
