Daytime temperatures in winter average around 45 degrees, in the summer around 85 degrees. Normal low humidity makes even the extreme temperatures bearable.
This locale boasts of many significant snapshots into history. Billy The Kid was raised in Silver City. Geronimo and his Apaches roamed and raided around these mountains. Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch worked and roamed the area around Alma. Kit Carson scouted nearby. Jim Kirker, Bear Moore & Ben Lilly called these mountains home.
