THE RESIDENCE: Access to State Route 522 is along Freedom Way, paved winding road which leads past Stone Ridge to a cul-de-sac serving a Roman Catholic Retreat and a Direct Mail Business.
The brick residence is very traditional Virginia Manor with a center hall and a back exit door positioned in direct line with the front door to allow summer breezes to cool the house (today there is air conditioning). There is a large Living Room with a fireplace to the right and Dining Room to the left. The Family Room, with a less formal fireplace, is next to the living room and the kitchen then shares a commom wall with the dining room. A “four over four” then has four bedrooms over the main level. This house has added another bedroom & bath over the large garage making five. In the Lower Level there is a Recreation Room with a third fireplace. There is also a full bath and sixth bedroom.
THE PROPERTY: The land is rolling, lightly treed around the edges and around the residence, but mostly rolling pasture fields. There is some fencing. The barn could be converted for horses by adding stalls…it is a completely open space inside; so the possibilities are endless. The pond is a very quiet and private space just over the hill from the residence.
