This club is known to have some of the best duck hunting anywhere around. The ducks seem to travel along the river to and from Reelfoot Lake, which is six miles from here, Lake Isom Refuge to the east, and White?s Lake Refuge to the south. This makes the club and ideal stopping point for traveling waterfowl. Deer and turkey hunting is excellent as well. Any sportsman who is familiar with the Mississippi River can tell you that giant whitetails roam up and down the river. The owner and his son regularly take trophy deer here. Turkey hunting is good as long as the hatch is not destroyed by flooding?some years this will occur.
The terrain is typical Mississippi River bottoms, consisting of Oak, Willow, Hackberry, and Cottonwoods. There is a long slough that spans the length of the property where a good bit of the duck hunting occurs. If the river gets up in the sloughs, the ducks are bountiful, and the deer hit the ridges in droves.
Fishing is also very good in the chutes, sloughs, and the MS river.
The club does have a caretaker.
A copy of the timber cruise is available by request. As a reminder, WRP acres can be timbered as long as the trees are 25 years or more, which presents no problem here.
