A Home in a Barn by Joahannes Postma. From Dairy Barn to Cozy Home. This home actually has a book written and published about its history! A barn would not be regarded by many as an ideal place for a home. But an old abandoned dairy barn enchanted a young man into making it his home in 1974. The barn was built in 1915 and then in 1976 transformation into a home started. Now current the home offers many unique features that still preserve the barn but has collided with todays moderness. The main level offers a 2 nd kitchen, living room with a wood burning fireplace, laundry and 2 bedrooms. The upper level still has original barn frame work, beams and some barn doors made from wood from the original barn. The solarium room is great space to enjoy looking out at the ravine and imagine the old in days. The living room and kitchen have an open floor plan that allows you to interact with others. This level also offers you the master bedroom, amazing walk in closet with a shoe carousel and bath that is adjacent to the original silo. The silo offers endless opportunities to enhance the home. You will also find another bath and bedroom on the upper level. The loft area is a great space to sit and enjoy reading many stories about the barn and viewing all the photos that can be left with the new owners of the home. On the loft area there is another bedroom, storage and access to the attic of the barn where you will still find the original pulley system for hay bailing.
