Over the years this ranch has been operated as a summer pasture for cows and calves in conjunction with winter ranches in northern California. The ranch consists of approx. 2150 deeded acres along with 1278 AUMs of BLM permit. On the deeded lands there are water rights for 602 acres of native irrigated meadow. Water is the key to value at Secret Valley Ranch. The ranch holds water rights on almost the entire flow from Secret Creek. In addition to the stream flow, there are also large free flowing springs which contribute to irrigation and flow continuously year around. The meadows begin at the south of the canyon where Secret Creek empties into the Valley. Steep and rugged rim rocks line the canyon rim along Secret Creek. Good hunting is found in the immediate vicinity with ample populations of deer, sage hen, and chukar right on the ranch.
