Ute Lake Ranch with over 30 miles of Ute Lake frontage is a gem in the desirable ranching area of Northeastern New Mexico and is located just west of Logan, New Mexico, north of US Highway 54 and west of NM Hwy 39.

Ute Lake is situated at the confluence of the Canadian River and Ute Creek. The Ranch lies on both the north and south side of the Canadian River portion of the lake and west of Ute Creek. The terrain on the ranch is mostly gently rolling grass land and flats with elevations of 3,830 feet to 4,150 feet above sea level. Rainfall is 15.86 annually based on a 30 year average. This open to rolling terrain with arroyos leading to Ute Lake furnishes a good home for a cow with plenty of winter protection and the bonus of good hunting and recreation.

Ute Lake is the lake of preference for most of the Texas Panhandle, eastern New Mexico and the Oklahoma Panhandle. Ute Lake boasts excellent fresh water fishing and a variety of water sports, it is a magnet for wildlife and the ranch is home to mule deer, antelope, quail and dove and could be developed into an outstanding hunting & fishing ranch. Access by ranch roads is good across the ranch with a pickup being able to navigate the ranch with ease.

Predominate grasses on the ranch are Blue, Black and Side Oats Grama, Sand Drop Seed and on the Flats are Sacaton and Tabosa. Trees and shrubs found on the ranch are Mesquite and Cedar with scattered Staghorn Cholla and Sage which also provide natural habitat for wild life.

At the headquarters the main residence is an older stucco home. There is also a smaller stucco home, both of which are in need of major repair. Cattle facilities at the headquarters include a good set of gathering/working pipe pens, a loadout chute and a processing barn complete with a hydraulic squeeze chute.

Phone service and electrical service (which powers the submersible electric motor and pump in a good domestic well at the headquarters) are available at the headquarters.

The ranch is watered by a reported eight wells including five wells powered and pumped by windmills, two wells equipped with submersible electric motors and pumps and one well in unknown condition at this time. There are several earthen dams (dirt tanks in Texas) located strategically throughout the ranch with Ute Lake obviously providing water access throughout much of the ranch.

Fencing is basically five strands of barbed wire with a combination of steel and cedar post, much of which has been replaced in recent years.
