Hidden amongst the towering pines, this Adirondack Mountain Trapper's Cabin is set on 27 private acres - uniquely located adjacent to 8,000 acres of nature preserve and three, large private game preserves managed by the Rockefeller family for wildlife purposes since the early 1900s.
The property includes a fully furnished cabin, built utilizing alpine construction and log scribing in the old Adirondack style featuring camp decor, wildlife wall hangings, antlers, bear rugs and log craftsmanship. A combination propane gas and solar system provide full utilities. A small kitchen area features a sink with hot and cold running water. The cabin includes a sleeping loft that can fit four cots or two beds.
Connected to the main camp is a wooden sidewalk leading to a separate, beautifully decorated, spacious "bathhouse cabin" with year-round hot water, bath, toilet, sink and reading chair.

The land surrounding the cabin features a mixture of tall, century-old white pines and gorgeous stands of balsam firs that give off the most incredible fragrances to be found in the North Woods. A nice-sized trout stream borders the south side, however, the property is best known for large trophy bucks and some of the best bear hunting found in the Adirondacks. (We have maintained an 8-point-only hunting rule for years and you can see by the camp wall mounts that we've rarely been disappointed!) Bear hunting is great too and most years, at least one or two trophy bears have been taken. Because the big game hunting is so favorable we almost take for granted some of the best grouse and snowshoe rabbit hunting you'll ever find in any state! Hunting here is like walking back in time 100 years...it's very quiet, and productive.
In addition, a large hunting club resides to the north that allows landowners "inside the gate" to join for only $400 per year. This club encompasses almost 18,000 acres, including miles of logging roads and ATV trails, as well as several lakes and rivers. Hunting, fishing and trapping are permitted for members only.
Hundreds of miles of trails are accessible from the property for hiking, canoeing, biking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ATV riding. This location and situation is the only one like it that we know of in the Adirondack region and could only have been found by a forester, like myself, who has been involved in the recreational land business for over 25 years.
The property is easily accessible by car and is located only 20 minutes from the nearest town and 35 minutes from Lake Placid. It is secured by a privately-owned gate with 24X7 gatekeeper on a well-maintained, year-round road.
As one of the single best woodland properties within the six million acre Adirondack Park, this is an incredible opportunity to own an old-style, Adirondack cabin in a setting that offers the peace and tranquility of the backwoods, yet is only 20 minutes from town.
