Location. Situated on one side of Salt Gap, this is one of the most spectacularly beautiful ranches in the northern Texas Hill Country. It sits astride the Brady Mountains, with over 250 feet of elevation change.
Terrain. Elevations reach 2030 feet on this gem of a ranch, giving it a climate much nicer than many areas in Texas. A high ridge runs east and west for 2 miles on the ranch, with stunning 30 mile views from end to end. There are a number of canyons and deep draws, making it really scenic. Numerous hardwood trees beautify the place; red oaks, shin oaks and live oaks abound. About 10% of the ranch is in improved grasses including klein grass and B. Dahl bluestem, plus 160 acres can be planted to wheat as well.
History. The region was pioneered in the 1860's, and countless head of cattle were trailed north in the cattle drive days through Salt Gap.
