Following is information provided by the Owner:
Silvia,
When Sue and I purchased the property at 33613 Lenox Rd. it was basically just a log cabin with some long ago additions including the original
windows in the log frame. We replaced the windows on the west side of house ,the north east living room(front),the south end (back) and the
back east corner. The exterior was just logs so we framed to the logs to make the walls straight and added insulation ,then TYVAC wrapped the house and installed the windows and T11 siding.Inside the house was much like the exterior. We moved the front door 90 degrees from where it sits now and vaulted the ceilings in the front part of living area since the ceiling height was only 6'6'' and I stand 6'5''.The interior walls of the living area were reframed and insulated (as possible) and new drywall installed, hence the deep window sills. The back room (or south end) was much like the front of house, only 6'6'' tall.So we stripped it down to bare studs and bare logs, reframed and vaulted the ceilings and added the windows to the south and east as this room only had 2 small windows originally. We used this as a sun room and back porch area as it now had windows all along the south wall and east and west walls. The bathroom had only a small medicine cabinet so we put a new larger cabinet in with light bar. The plumbing was not hooked up under the house so we did that also,as well as put in a hot water heater and surge tank and plumbed it into the house. The small bedroom was log on south wall so this room was framed as well and sheetrocked then paneled.
The property itself was in a beautiful location with views of the mountains to the north and south but was in much disarray. There was much cross fencing that was old and falling down, so we removed it all and cleaned out all the old fence rows. There is no cross fencing on the property now. The far back pond was dug for us about 6 yrs. ago,it is about 12' to 15' deep just out from the over flow and has never been dry. The watershed from the back of the property runs into this pond,so any rain received ends up here in the pond.At that time I had the dike cut on the upper pond to have it drained for cleaning(which has not been done). We cut and removed and burnt many many cedar trees on the property as they were trying to take over the place. And more trips to the transfer station hauling trash and junk( that we picked up all over the property) than i care to think about. There was an old dilapidated barn on top of the hill just west of upper pond that was falling down.We tore it down and removed the tin and burnt the remainder. We also site cleared the front fences and built the fence along the front of house with the double T gate. That's all i can think of at this time though I know it doesn't cover all we have done.As you can see we have put a lot of effort into this property. Any questions, give me a shout.
