The 7 Mile Ranch - North Pasture is over 10 sections (6,152 acres) of West Texas pastures and canyons, with the famous Dead Man's Canyon dominating the landscape of the western end of the Ranch with incredible, towering bluffs and deep gorges just waiting to be hiked and explored. Indian caves dating back thousands of years have been found in some of the most remote areas. A road has been built (at substantial expense) crossing Dead Man's Canyon, known as Cochise Crossing, which allows the owner to drive a vehicle thru the canyon and access the far NW corner of the Ranch.

For the hunter, the Ranch boasts a huge variety of brush and grass cover which provides excellent habitat for native game including whitetail deer, quail and dove. There are 7 deer hunting stations on the Ranch; each station is fenced and includes a 1500 lb. Lamco protein feeder, a Hang Em High corn feeder, a two-person tower deer stand (4 12) with two quality chairs for the hunters. Other native species include bobcats, mountain lions, fox, rabbit and a huge variety of birds.
The 7 Mile Ranch - North Pasture is a working ranch as well as a hunting ranch. The ranch is fenced into two pastures assures plenty of available grazing land for livestock. Along the southern edge of the Ranch is the shearing pen & main corrals. Although not used as a shearing operation any more, the shearing pen is a great place to meet up to take a break after a morning of working stock or hunting.
In west Texas, water is life. The Ranch is well watered in order to support and sustain the livestock and wildlife that live on the Ranch. With 3 working water wells, 5 water storage tanks (Pila's), miles of water lines and 12+ water troughs the Ranch is set up to allow livestock and game to roam and forage even the most remote areas. The ranch has excellent roads with road signs to keep you on track. The road signs are named after well-known west Texas persons or places which make for good conversations as you travel the many miles of improved roads.
The Ranch is mostly rolling, rugged terrain with several draws running through it. Elevations range from approximately 1250 feet the bottom of Dead Mans Canyon to approximately 1660 feet at various hilltops. The Ranch is covered with a variety of native vegetation including mesquite, black brush, huisache, mountain laurel, guajillo, spanish dagger, persimmon, sotol, retama, ocotillo and many others.
