70 acres of undeveloped land with over 2000 feet of NC Railroad tracks and a 60' access easement to a state maintained, paved road. This parcel is currently zoned R-20, sits within the Newport ETJ, and is a stones throw from Highway 70 with a 32k/day average traffic count. There are no special flood hazard areas on the preliminary flood maps for this area, and the elevation is between 16-18 feet and is very level. Ditching throughout the property and on some boundary lines could be cleaned out to promote more drainage and assist with future storm water planning. This project could benefit or be impacted in the future by the NCDOT Bridges Street Extension Project R-5727, but preliminary engineering activities have been suspended at this time.
