About 1/3 of the property is in dense mesquite brush, providing bedding areas for game. The remaining 2/3s is an old field that was allowed to revert back to grass pasture years ago. In this grass pasture, there are lots of young mesquites and reemerging brush, which over time will thicken just like the woods on the property. This native pasture has an old pond that holds water in the wet season; there are several drainages running across the place too, where other tanks could be built.
