The River Run Ranch is one of the most unique, picturesque, properties in Northern California. With breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta as the backdrop, and a grassy knoll on which the farmhouse sits over-looking the Shasta River, this property is truly one of the prettiest settings you’ll find. The 81 acre+/- property has water everywhere with close to ½ a mile of the famous Shasta River winding through the ranch, as well as a pond and year round creek. The rich fertile land is irrigated by the mighty Shasta River and was previously planted in alfalfa. The plantings yielded a great harvest for the owners. The River Run Ranch was also a successful cattle ranch at one time and ran 60 cows. A very well maintained one story farmhouse, horse/cow barn, and corrals complete this great package.

The river supports several species of fish, including chinook salmon, coho salmon and steelhead and resident rainbow trout. Although fishing opportunities along the Shasta River are limited, the river produces salmon and steelhead that support fisheries in the Klamath River and in the ocean. There is also a potential for the ranch to obtain a conservation easement. Steelhead fishing attracts sportfishers to the Klamath Basin which helps to support the economy of the small towns along the river. Salmon are an important part of the diet and culture of the Indian tribes in the Klamath Basin today, as they have been for thousands of years.
The River Run Ranch is convenient and easy to reach by paved roads. It’s only about a 10 minute drive from the city of Yreka which is the county seat of Siskiyou County, California. Siskiyou County is a vast land of mountains, forests and valleys with clear sparkling streams and lakes. Picnic beside streams, on lakes, in city parks or almost anywhere. Swim in lakes, streams, city pools, and resorts or motels. Raft, kayak and tube in the white water or the more placid areas. Fish or raft any of six major rivers (Sacramento, Klamath, McCloud, Scott, Salmon, Shasta); in the many tributary streams. Winter activities include snow camping/shoeing, dog sledding, and alpine and cross country skiing. Climbing or hiking on Mt. Shasta, the Marble Mountains, the Pacific Crest Trail, the Black Butte Trail and the Russian Wilderness can be adventurous. Capture the beauty of the McCloud River Falls, (lower, middle and upper), with deep pools for swimming, photography, and picnicking. An international airport and the bustling city of Medford, Oregon is also less than an hour’s drive.
