Before you even read anything here about this property, it is worth the time to look through all the pics, aerial photos and the interactive map tab and you will quickly have a good idea as to what this property can provide much less the overall area that it is set in. I preach all the time that it’s all about the habitat not only what is on a specific property but what the overall area also provides. This property sits in the glacier ridge area west of New London. One look at the aerials and if you have ever driven around this area, one is taken back by the amount of habitat that exists in this area. The property itself has been restored through the state RIM program and is about as diverse of a property as one is going to find with a mixture of larger and smaller open water basins, dotted thick wintering/seclusion areas, tree planting, upland restored prairie and approximately 12 plus acres of tillable land not in the program that is located right in the middle of the property and left for food plots. Just pulling up to the driveway gate on the property the very first time that I looked at it, it really didn’t surprise me that a group of around 30 pheasants flushed and that is only a small portion of the total birds I saw that day not to mention bumping deer and one very respectable buck (just look at the pics again). It is a proven waterfowl producing property and again, it doesn’t surprise me with the diversity of the wetland complexes on the property not to mention the vast wetland complexes that exist in the surrounding area which includes being located adjacent to just under 400 acres of federal WPA land where you can literally drive to the edge of your property and walk a short distance to hunt sloughs on that land as well. The existing house on the property has had many upgrades by the current owner including windows, roof, siding, and a new well to name just a few and has plenty of room for a large group not to mention a nice lower level sauna and a view of the property for relaxing after the hunt. There also is a newly constructed 40’ x 80’ shed with concrete floor for storing all your hunting needs. Don’t think for one bit that you’ll be utilizing this property just for the fall hunting season. If you enjoy fishing or other summer recreational activities, this property is in the ideal setting to utilize as a base camp for fishing any of the area lakes or just a nice family getaway. So much more to say about this property but if you’re looking for a proven producer of multiple species with living accommodations on site and in an area where one can utilize it in the summer, you have to come to check out this great property!
