These are 5(+/-) acre parcels in the Mountain View Ranchettes area of Hudspeth County, Texas. They have the most beautiful views that you could want, on a flat plateau over 5,200' high.
They are just over half a mile from Gunsight Ranch and overlook Flat Canyon. This dramatic canyon is over 700' below the Ranchettes, and scenic land continues to fall away as you look to the southwest. There are buttes a couple hundred feet below the Ranchettes, enhancing an impressive view. Although that would be enough for anyone, there's more. Finlay Mountains to the south, Guadalupe Mountains to the northeast, Sierra La Amargosa to the southwest, and Sierra Blanca Mountain to the southeast provide beautiful views.
Hudspeth County is in west Texas. This is a beautiful area with clean air and water. There is basically no pollution and no crime here. The sunsets are as beautiful as any you will ever see. The night is so clear it will amaze you by how many stars you can see. The climate is mild and dry, with an average minimum of 30 degrees in January and an average maximum of 94 in July.
This is undeveloped land. There is power in parts of the Gunsight Ranch but not to these parcels. Power would be by solar, generator, wind, or eventual power lines. Water tanks are readily available from major retailers, and the most cost efficient way to obtain water in this area probably would be to haul it in yourself or have it hauled to you. You could call a well driller if you want to explore that possibility. Sewage would be by septic if you build. Cell phones work almost everywhere.
Corners were marked with 1/2; iron rods years ago. Taxes are $13 per lot. Mobile homes, modular homes, cabins, and RV's are allowed. You can build your dream home, or just RV or camp from time to time, enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Each of these beautiful parcels is 5 acres, 651.58 feet by 334.26 feet. That is over 217,000 square feet per property. A trail road is nearby, and each parcel in this area has a 30' general access easement, for legal access to each property.
Fort Hancock is just over 17 miles away, and has businesses for your convenience. Sierra Blanca is 23 miles away with more places to shop. El Paso is about 54 miles away.
From Interstate 10 take the Sierra Blanca exit and go north on FM Road 1111 for about 18 1/2 miles. Then turn west on Gunsight Road and go about 15 1/4 miles. Drive south about a mile, and turn west on the lesser trail road for about 0.8 miles. Then you have just a very short drive over flat ground, depending on which property about 230 to 850 feet. You should probably take a four wheel drive vehicle or at least a pickup.
If you are looking for a five acre off grid property with privacy and spectacular views, one of these properties should be at the top of your list. These beautiful parcels are in Section 23 of PSL Block 18.
