(The Former) Zumwalt Family Waterfowl Hunting Club 321.68 Acres, M/L Colusa County, California
A good portion of this clubs wetland habitat is dedicated to a wildlife sanctuary, to ensure there will always be live waterfowl living on the club. There are five strategic hunting locations (duck blinds) located within the marsh area, in between the refuge sanctuary areas.
LOCATION: This historic 100-year-old waterfowl hunting club is located one mile west of the town of Colusa, California. The property borders the Colusa National Waterfowl Refuge Sanctuary north border (California State Hwy 20). Lurline Road is the north border of the subject property. The west border of the property is the 2047 Colusa drain canal which flows between the Colusa National Waterfowl Refuge and the Delevan National Waterfowl Refuge and the Sacramento National Waterfowl Refuge. This large canal has always been the main vein (flight pattern) between these three awesome waterfowl sanctuaries.

DESCRIPTION: This hunting club consists of 321.68 acres that are enrolled in the US Fish and Wildlife Service Conservation Easement and Wetlands Reserve program for the protection of valuable wetlands and migratory waterfowl. The easement placed on this extremely valuable wetland property makes for a very high-quality hunting experience. According to the Colusa County Department of Public Works, this property is 51 to 52 above sea level (Zone AE) and is subject to flooding.
OIL, GAS & MINERAL RIGHTS: All of the oil, gas and mineral rights on this property are held with the former owners (Zumwalt Family).
PROPERTY TAXES: This property is enrolled in the Williamson Act. The annual taxes are $5,310.
SOILS: The soil on this property is primarily Grimes clay which is excellent wetland soil for growing all of the valuable moist soil plants used by waterfowl. (Round stem bulrush tule, smartweed, water-grass, and swamp timothy).
