Nestled in the southwest corner of the Walla Walla AVA and a stones throw out side the Rocks AVA, you will find a well managed 10th leaf vineyard called Rock Bottom.
Named Rock Bottom due to the large amount of river rock discovered below the upper soils, there are 19.10 +/- acres of mature vines which sit at an elevation of 815 +/- feet.
Soils at Rock Bottom are Umapine silt loam. These well-draining soils require watering during the higher temperature months. Water is provided by an irrigation well under certified water rights from a tributary of the Goodman Spring Branch.
Seven different wine grapes are grown, all with north-south vine orientation and vertical shoot positioning.
The Bordeaux varietals include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.
The one Rhone varietal is a wonderful Syrah.
In addition to the Bordeaux and Rhone varietals, there are 6 rows of the Spanish varietal Albarino.
There are two (2) automatic start wind machines. Automatic start computers turn on when critical temperature is reached. Likewise the machines turn off if the temperature warms up.
Exclusively offered by The WestOne Group this highly productive vineyard is now available.
