Costaplenty Ranch

The fairly secluded Costaplenty Ranch is visually appealing multipurpose property consisting of 120+/- rolling acres approximately 10 miles west of historic Bowie, Texas. This town was named for Jim Bowie, a defender of the Alamo. The frontier town started to really take off in the 1880s with expansion of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad. Local lore includes the famous First National Bank of Bowie heist in 1884. As the story goes four desperados successfully liberate the bank of over $10,000 worth of gold coins. The town folks gave chase, captured the outlaws and the subsequently hanged them for their deeds.

Starting at the Walmart parking lot in Bowie, Texas travel West on CR 1125 towards Amon Carter Lake. You will cross the lake at the approximate 6 miles and continue approx. 1 mile and turn right on Carter Lake Road. Travel approx. on half mile and Carter Lake Road will turn left (Post Oak tree in the middle of the road). Cross a little creek and property with private driveway immediately on the left.
