The ranch can best be described as an intact piece of mature native hardwood bottom habitat. A diversity of hardwood species, including several species of oaks, tower above the 58 acres, providing limitless cover, and an endless amount of acorns in the fall to keep the assortment of wildlife well fed.

The property falls within the Neches River bottom and experiences the seasonal transition to riparian habitat in the winter months, which is ideal for migrating waterfowl including puddle ducks like wood ducks, mallards, and greenwing teal.
