Situated in GMU 301, Golden Hills Ranch borders state land that does not allow public access, with the remainder of the property surrounded by additional private holdings. This limited public pressure contributes to strong resident populations of deer and antelope commonly observed on the ranch throughout the year. Later in the season, the property may also see migratory elk herds traveling from higher elevations in the surrounding mountains. Over-the-counter elk tags are available for private land during second and third rifle seasons. Additionally, multiple access points to hundreds of thousands of acres of nearby National Forest lie within an hour of the ranch, offering extensive trail systems, alpine lakes, quality fishing, and expanded hunting opportunities. Elkhead Reservoir is also located a short drive from the property.

Location

The ranch is conveniently located less than 15 minutes north of Craig, which offers a full range of amenities including grocery stores, fuel, hardware, restaurants, medical services, and local businesses. Approximately 45 minutes to the north is the town of Baggs, Wyoming. Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden is roughly 30 minutes southeast of the ranch, and continuing another 30 minutes brings you to Steamboat Springs, known for its year-round recreation, dining, and entertainment options.
