This unique farm, bordering the Ohio River, offers two separate Whitetail Deer hunting seasons. Although the entire acreage lies on the Illinois side of the river, 50 acres legally belong to Kentucky. As a result, deer hunting can begin on September 1 each year on the 50.05 acres east of the Illinois line in Kentucky, giving the landowner an early start on pursuing mature bucks. The property features wooded acreage, crop fields, and blacktop road frontage. Eight acres of centrally located crop fields are perfectly suited for establishing food plots to attract trophy Whitetails. The fertile soils consist of Hurst silty clay loam (99 PI) and Racoon silt loam (106 PI). This field could also be used to build a low-water structure for duck and goose hunting. Beyond the two deer seasons, the property also holds abundant turkeys and waterfowl, with thousands of ducks known to rest in nearby flooded backwaters late in the season.
Permits and stamps would be required in both Kentucky and Illinois, depending on which portion is hunted. This is the only farm we have ever known with Kentucky land located on the Illinois side of the river. Excellent fishing opportunities are available along the riverbanks, an area known for its giant catfish. When not hunting or fishing, ATV and UTV riding can be enjoyed throughout the property.
An elevated site off the blacktop road offers an ideal location for a hunting cabin or home. This is one of the most unique farms we have encountered, providing exceptional recreational opportunities just minutes from Paducah, Kentucky.
The Kentucky portion of the property will be processed through Kentucky broker Stephen Grimes.
