Vegetation: The ranch is covered in hundreds of beautiful, huge live oaks and post oaks, giving some parts of the ranch a park-like appearance. There are also many other hardwoods such as sycamore, elm, and cedar along Ragsdale Creek and the other small creek systems. The native brush is typical of the Texas coastal plains, including scrub oak and yaupon.
Terrain: The ranch primarily has sandy soils throughout, with darker soils in the lower areas. Ragsdale Creek traverses the middle of the ranch for 1.7 miles offering rolling elevation changes. There are several small creek systems that drain the ranch into Ragsdale Creek.
