Deer: The ranch was game fenced in 2009 to allow for better control and management of the deer herd. The ranch was immediately given MLD level 3 status by TPWD allowing for long seasons and aggressive management of the herd. Fifteen tagged does were moved in from another area game fenced ranch with a mature, quality herd. The Mesquite Hills Ranch consists of a totally native deer herd. Water: Can someone fish all day in West Texas? You can at this ranch. The property has eight strong, fully stocked reservoirs of varying sizes. All but one held water at the pinnacle of the recent drought. Bass to 10 pounds and catfish to 20 have reportedly been caught. The fishing is reported to be amazing.
