The Y.O. Ranch Headquarters is home to a large variety of exotic animal species introduced in the 1950s as part of conservation, tourism and hunting operations. Today, the ranch hosts dozens of exotic species, many from Africa, Asia, Europe, and beyond. A premier, world re-known, wildlife habitat. These exotic animals are often seen grazing across the grasslands of the ranch and can be found in various pastures. Alongside the exotics, the ranch also supports native Texas livestock and wildlife. The most notable are Texas Longhorn cattle, whitetail deer, hogs and turkey.
Water:
Several community stock tanks/ponds provide water for the livestock and wildlife. Some of the properties have wet-weather creeks. Available data in the area indicates groundwater depths typically range from 400 to 450 feet +/- and are situated over the Edwards and Hensel Aquifer groups. All lots will need wells and must use a TDLR licensed driller and drilled in compliance with the Headwaters Groundwater Conservation District regulations.
