Rancho Medio
Rancho Medio consists of 1265 low-fenced acres a few miles from Refugio, Texas. This ranch is extremely convenient, being located along paved Kelley Road only three miles off of US Hwy 77, which is less than a mile South of Refugio. Refugio is home to HEB and a full host of stores and service companies. Additionally, Rooke Field Airport (KRFG) is located one mile from Rancho Medio on Kelley Road.
The ranch is gently rolling with frontage along Medio Creek, a major drainage that features uncharacteristically large Live Oak, Elm, Cottonwood and other indigenous timber, and held water within its banks through the historic drought this year. Another very unique feature found on the ranch is an artesian water well which naturally flowed throughout this summer as well. True artesian wells are becoming extremely rare across South Texas and the coastal bend.

The ranch is entirely low-fenced with very heavy timber, brush and browse along the creek to semi-open country across the Southern half. The brushy portion of the ranch is ideal habitat for many species of wildlife while the more open country has enough cover to hold wildlife, but more specifically ideal quail habitat with its generous ground cover. This ranch is in an area known for very large ranches with excellent hunting.
Improvements include an old headquarters with a large barn, cattle pens, and two residential structures which have been utilized as hunting camps over the years. There are two water wells with electric submersible pumps and the previously mentioned artesian well.
While Rancho Medio is being offered surface only, there is no oil or gas production on the ranch.
