The word oasis, can be defined as, something that provides you refuge, comfort or calmness. What a great way to describe The Red Rooster Icehouse. It is a place that provides you refuge and relaxation, comfort and sustenance and calmness with a cool atmosphere, especially during the heat of a Texas summer. The Red Rooster Icehouse is conveniently located approximately 4 miles to Lake Hawkins, 9 miles to Holly Lake Ranch, 18 miles to Mineola and 30 miles to Tyler. It is approximately 3600 sq. ft. with an easy seating capacity of approximately 200 people. The parking lot can hold up to 75 vehicles and it has prominent road frontage and easy access to FM 14 (North Beulah Street). There is a covered patio area that has a large fire pit on the front porch to warm up the cool nights in the fall and winter. This area has both ample seating and standing room. It has two, 8-foot, Big Ass fans plus wall heaters. You will notice 4 impressive, overhead doors used to bring in the cool air and to open up during concerts. Upon entering the restaurant, you will quickly notice the huge, 14-foot, Big Ass fan, accompanied by 2 custom, light fixtures suspended from the ceiling. The Red Rooster provides a selection of both Karaoke as well as live, celebrated, musical talent such The Bellamy Brothers, Micky Gilley, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Cody Canada, John Anderson and more. There is a raised stage for the entertainers. Custom lighting and Sonos speakers are used for full entertainment value. And now for the bar. This is a full bar. The bar has a custom, poured, wood grained, concrete bar top with a seating capacity for 10 people at the bar. All bottled beer is iced down in custom, insulated, stainless steel troughs. Flooring behind the bar is the industrial, non-slip tile, specially treated to resist odor, to keep from getting that stale, beer smell so many bars have. Cold, draft beer is set up in close proximity to the tap. The walk-in cooler is directly behind the bar allowing the draft beer to literally flow from the keg to the tap in less than 12 inches of line. This makes for a fresher, colder, draft beer. The office is upstairs and has a full bath if there is a call for late night hours. Currently the restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday, serving both lunch and dinner along with all the normal drinks and adult beverages. There is plenty of room to expand and increase ones business. Serving breakfast is one possibility. Opening up a few extra days during the week and definitely when football season comes, being open all day on Sunday and Monday should definitely increase revenue.
