Hunting is the main attraction here. Sabinoso 643 lies in GMU 42 within New Mexico’s EPLUS Secondary Management Zone, giving the owner access to unlimited OTC private-land elk tags without waiting on the public draw. OTC private-land-only mule deer tags add another annual big-game opportunity.

Region & Climate
Sabinoso 643 lies east of Las Vegas, where the open country of northeastern New Mexico breaks into the rough mesas and canyon systems surrounding the Sabinoso Wilderness. Pion-juniper woodland, native grass openings, rock-lined drainages, and long views across mostly undeveloped country define the area.
The region averages approximately 15 inches of precipitation each year, with much of it arriving from late spring through early fall. July and August are generally the wettest months due to the monsoon season, when summer thunderstorms bring water through the canyons and put new growth on the grass and browse.
This is four-season country. Summers bring warm days, cool nights, and low humidity. Winters can be cold, with snow and freezing temperatures. Like most of New Mexico, precipitation can vary considerably from one year to the next.
Location
Although it is located in a remote part of NM, Sabinoso 643 is surprisingly easy to access. Located approximately 40 miles and one hour east of Las Vegas, New Mexico via Hwy 104 and County Road C51A. Las Vegas has fuel, groceries, restaurants, lodging, medical care, and ranch supplies.
Santa Fe is approximately 105 miles and two hours from the ranch. Santa Fe Regional Airport is approximately 110 miles and 2 hours 10 minutes away. Albuquerque International Sunport is approximately 170 miles and 2 hours 45 minutes away.
San Miguel County Road C51A provides direct access to the ranch and continues through the property to the southern Sabinoso Wilderness access point just north of the boundary.
