The name of the ranch comes from a ridge that runs along its western boundary. There are three peaks along the ridge with saddles between them that funnel the deer onto the property. In addition, the property straddles the drainage divide between the South Canadian and Little River watersheds with draws from both extending up and into the property. Consequently, wildlife can travel through this property as a shortcut between the two watersheds.
There are three small ponds plus an area that could be turned into a duck slough with standing timber. There are two nice pond sites near the farmhouse that could be built to hold 1 to 3 acres of water, each.
