This property was first noted on October 31, 1804, in the Dunbar & Hunter Journals, which was the first commissioned expedition to explore the Ouachita River by President Thomas Jefferson. Similar to the more widely known Lewis and Clark expedition. A truly unique property with much to offer, this property has just about every kind of hunting and fishing Louisiana offers. Some of the massive timber on the land is a sight to behold. There is almost a half mile of frontage on the Ouachita River and over a half mile of Bayou Calamus frontage. This tract sits on both sides of Bayou Calamus, which winds through the property. The timber hasn't been cut in ages, adding much beauty to the property. The Ouachita and the bayou will offer opportunities to fish for bass, white perch, catfish, etc. The land is located in the southeast part of Caldwell Parish, just over 11 miles from Columbia.
