Irrigation, Hay Production, and Land Stewardship
The ranch owns and maintains substantial water rights and benefits from its Park Reservoir shares. Approximately 1,200 acres are irrigated and utilized for both hay production and grazing.
The current livestock program requires roughly 1,700 tons of hay for winter feeding, which is efficiently produced and harvested during the summer, while still maintaining ample standing forage.
Despite above-average stocking levels for a property of this size, the ranch’s abundant water resources allow for extended grazing into late winter, even during drought conditions.
Additionally, cover crops are incorporated to improve soil health, enhance wildlife habitat, and support cattle nutrition—an approach made possible by the ranch’s well-developed water distribution system.
