The owner has provided some great examples of mature bucks they have taken on the property over the years. While you can deer hunt all the property, the floodplain area features a 17-acre wetland that duck hunters dream about. This part of the property has a two lobed wetland with a stand of large hardwoods surrounding it and growing along the high ground between the lobes. In addition, there are two small islands in the wetland that are perfect for waterfowl to rest on after feeding. The ditches feeding the wetland extend up and through wooded areas to create the fantastic irregular shape of this ideal duck slough. The overlook from the bluff is the perfect place to sit and watch the ducks and geese land, swim and sleep on the islands.
A 1200 square foot barn built of insulated panels sits just east of the wetlands. Directly uphill from there is a great bargain waiting for someone to exploit. A large hollow chokes down to a 30-foot outlet. If you dammed up this very narrow opening, it would back up more than one surface acre of water next to the yard and workshop. It’s not often that you can build this short of a dam and capture that much water.
