Round Top is a truly unique community with a permanent population of 72, and also known as an international destination.

SHELBY HISTORY

David Shelby came to this area and became the postmaster. The post office was opened in 1846 under the town name Shelby and by 1884 the 75 residents had three saloons, three stores, and a variety of essential businesses.

1904 was when Shelby's population peaked, and although the post office closed in 1912, the population remained at about 200 until after WWII.
